Next Level Bible Studies
Have you learned to read the Bible? It sounds like a silly question, but reading the Bible just like you would any other book leaves you missing out on so much!
In the first part of this session, we will take a deep dive into the “Feeding of the 5,000.”
As we go, Lisa will introduce simple tools that will bring you to a deeper understanding of what might be a familiar Scripture passage. Once equipped, individuals will then apply these tools to the “Feeding of the 4,000.” We will then compare the two accounts and discover the difference is more than 1,000!
Managing Life and Faith with a “Thorn in Your Flesh”
How do you stay close to God when:
- The condition seems hopeless…
- The help doesn’t come…
- The challenging person isn’t going anywhere…
- The situation doesn’t seem to change…
Jesus told us straight out, “In this world you will have trouble,” (John 16:33) but what do we do when that “trouble” doesn’t leave? How can we grow closer to God when He seems so far away, when our prayers aren’t answered in the way we would like? How do we not just survive, but thrive as we live with a “thorn in the flesh” (2 Cor 12:7)? In this workshop we will answer these questions and more as Lisa Lewis Koster shares what she’s learned from spending 25 years in the desert.
